Bob Moses (Live) @Indigo on April 25

Both raised in music-centric families, Jimmy Vallance and Tom Howie attended the same school in their native city Vancouver, Canada. They lost touch only to meet again at a studio complex in Brooklyn years later. Both had developed as musicians, and had experimented with making different styles of music in the intervening years. Moving in together in Brooklyn, NY, they began to make music and play DJ shows shoulder-to-shoulder in warehouses around the borough. Growing their careers within this underground scene, they were eventually introduced to Francis Harris and began working on a vocal to one of his records collaboratively. Harris invited them to work on what became the first few Frank & Tony tracks, and it was through this participation that Bob Moses was forged.

Bob Moses released their debut EP ‘Hands To Hold’ on the Scissor & Thread imprint at the beginning of 2013. The reviews were rave and the title track became something of an underground anthem, generating worldwide exposure and resulting in an intensified touring schedule across America and Europe. From BPM to Burning Man, Bob Moses’ live sets generated consistently excellent reviews.

Still, they found time for the studio and released the dark and dreamy ‘Far From The Tree’ EP in September of the same year. Also on Scissor & Thread, the record cemented their place on the label and established beyond doubt their immense talent and potential. The worldwide Bob Moses live performances were particularly well received throughout 2014, and confirmed as such by an inclusion in Resident Advisor’s best 20 live acts of the year.
The duo signed with Domino Records and released their ’First To Cry’ EP, followed by a retrospective compilation entitled ‘All in All’. Now beginning work on their debut album, Bob Moses is a rising constellation dawning on the fast approaching horizon.

They are going to be spinning at Indigo on April 25. Murat Uncuoglu and Alican will be the hosts for the event.
